I wonder what would happen if I tried to write a song about the emotions of the current “health care” debate? It probably wouldn’t fit in with the rest of my stuff! I guess I’ll hold off:)

We all love to believe that our bond with a person’s talent somehow translates to complete unity of mind and spirit.
Once it is revealed that there is major conflict in some core values/beliefs, the enjoyment of their talent has been tainted. So it really is a lose/lose situation for both the audience and the artist.
An example is Barbara Streisand. Her music made out very souls leap in awe until we found out she was a rabid women’s lib, i.e., hand in hand with those responsible for the killing of millions of innocent, unborn babies. The same music sickens us.
Jim, I can’t imagine you are a typical “Hollywood Liberal”……..but if you are, PLEASE don’t say it. I love your music too much and count on it’s healing qualities to get me thru many rough days ahead.

As a proud Tea Party attendee (Ft. Worth, TX on 9/12/09), I would expect any KIND OF SOUNDS depicting our government’s bureaucrats taking over the medical industry as follows:
1. Someone taking their last gasp of breath while waiting in line to be treated…..have you ever had to stand in those long lines to get a car title/plates/registration or your drivers license or mail a package?
2. The laughter of politicians while they brag about making sure they aren’t subject to the same lack of care they foisted onto the rest of us….they are exempt.
3. The cries of starving children because their parents were fined thousand of dollars and put into jail because they refused to pay the “HEALTH CARE TAX” we are all required to pay.
4. The loud shouts and curses coming from the “useful idiots” (naive, bleeding heart liberals) that the gov’t convinced it actually cared for the poor; but all the corruption, embezzlement, ineffieciency, a ruined medical industry and a national debt we can never pay back to our communit “lenders” finally woke them up to the fact that THEY WERE DUPED, but the damage has already been done…….BIG BROTHER owns them and, as in history, they are the first to be thrown under the bus as the idiots BIG BROTHER knew they were all along.
And they’ll be laying right next to one of the old posters that read: “If you think medical care is expensive now, wait until the gov’t tells you it’s FREE.”
Jim, listen the people in the streets and you might be able to compose an entire album called “The sounds of misery”….including the gnashing of teeth and screaming when told by BIG BROTHER that they have run out of pain killers for your surgery.
Boy did you hit a chord, huh?
