Live In Concert Improv 7/9/10 (Indianapolis)
July 29th, 2010 by Jim Chappell | Filed under Uncategorized. Here is one of my recent live in concert “spontaneous improvisations” based on three randomly chosen piano notes by an audience member.
I ask a volunteer to hit any 3 notes they’d like, and then I try to weave them into a melody right there on the spot. This keeps me on my toes for sure!
If you were there you should remember it:) I named it “Violet Night” (Copyright 2010 Unspeakable Freedom Music)
Jim… you never cease to amaze. Your music continues to move me in so many ways. “Violet Night” is truly a lovely
piece; one that I, too, hope will make it to an album!
Thanks folks…glad you enjoyed..It’s fun for me to do:)
Am listening to “Violet Night” as I type, remembering the two girls who chose the notes and the concert, thinking “What a perfect name for this song!”, and being amazed yet again at your talent and skill.
Jim,
I loved this song when you played in Indy and hearing it again brings back the memories of a wonderful day of music and friendship. As much as I enjoy your new album, this song will remain one of my favorites. Now, if you can only get it onto one of your future albums so I can take it with me!
